My goal with these was to keep them as generic as possible so you can use them for anyone at any time. Check back every once in a while to see new designs. You don’t want your mom from the future wondering why you’ve given her the same birthday card five years in a row.
Why use printable birthday cards?
Going to the store and picking out a birthday card might be fun for some people, but for the rest of us, it’s not the most fun activity in the world. Add that on top of the fact that not everyone has the same birthday (how inconvenient, am I right?!) and, well, now this is just turning into a headache. All joking (or am I?) aside, here are a few reasons I prefer printable greeting cards over mass-produced store-bought cards:
- You don’t have to leave your house.
- You can reuse these over and over for every person and every birthday for the rest of your life (or until you run out of ink).
- You can have a birthday card within seconds of remembering you need one, even if the birthday person just walked in the door and you completely forgot it was their birthday. “One sec. I’ll be right there, just grabbing your birthday card I got you WEEKS ago!”
- You can just print another one if you mess up your super special birthday message- no more scribbling out your mistakes or having to use white-out!
DISCLAIMER: I am not talking about small businesses here. One of my very dear friends owns the most fabulous greeting card company on the face of this planet. If you can support a small business (like No Coast Paper Co.) rather than buying some mass-produced cards (or downloading free printables from some strange lady on the internet), definitely do that!
How to print your free printable birthday cards?
What you need:
- A device to print from (phone, tablet, or computer).
- A printer (check with your local library if you don’t have one).
- Paper – printer paper works just fine, but the quality of your card will depend on the weight and quality of your paper. I like to use heavier-weight paper for my printable cards.
- A pen to fill out the inside of your blank printable birthday card!
- An envelope that fits a 5.5″X4.25″ card (or whichever size a specific card is- check the description)
Step 1: Download the file from the “download” button.
Step 2: Save the printable birthday card to your device.
Step 3: Print.
Step 4: Cut on the dotted line.
Step 5: Fold in half.
Step 6: Fill out the inside of your printed birthday card with your own personal message!
Step 7: Put in an envelope (remember- these cards are approximately 5.5″x4.25″ when folded).
