Cut down screen time before bed with these tips:
1. Take a bath
A warm bath is relaxing and can help our bodies get a good night’s sleep. Body temperatures typically drop during sleep, so taking a warm bath or shower an hour or so before bed can help aid the process by raising body temps while in the bath and falling temps when we get out.
2. Read a book
Ebooks are great, but if we are trying not to look at our devices before bed, go for the old book with pages. Books can be relaxing and can relieve stress while you unwind before bedtime.
3. Listen to a podcast or an audiobook
Pick out an audiobook or podcast during the day, so you don’t have to spend too much time at bedtime scrolling through your phone looking for something to listen to. Try to remember you’re picking something for bedtime, so maybe try to avoid the adventure books that’ll keep you up all night with anticipation and save those for your morning commute or break time.
4. Journal
Get yourself a journal or a notebook and make a habit of journaling before bed. You can journal about your daily goals or start with a simple gratitude list each night. The possibilities are endless.
